The considered wardrobe / 10 guides

The digital closet.

A digital closet becomes useful when it helps you find a piece, remember a combination or prepare for a real day. You do not have to photograph everything before you begin. Choose a small group you wear now, give each item a recognizable record, and add the rest when you need it.

These guides separate the work of recording clothes from the work of choosing a tool. A photo album can preserve outfits; a spreadsheet can track an inventory; a wardrobe app can bring pieces and saved looks together. Start with the job you need done, then consider permissions, editing and export before you commit to a workflow.

A useful starting point.

  1. Begin with a small, useful batch. One clear image and a recognizable name are enough to start a record.
  2. Keep ownership separate from inspiration. A saved photograph is not evidence that every item in it belongs to you.
  3. Record details that change decisions: comfortable shoes, sleeve bulk, useful pockets and which layer fits over a top.

If you already have outfit photos, begin with the photo guide. If you are moving from memory to a list, use the inventory template. If you are considering AI, read the privacy and styling-brief guides before sharing images or personal details.
