The considered wardrobe / 9 guides

Travel & seasons.

A packing list should cover your plans before it fills your bag. List the days, activities and expected conditions, then test complete outfits against them. Count the clothes you travel in as part of the wardrobe, while keeping underwear, sleepwear and specialist gear visible in their own list.

A weekend with no laundry is different from a week with a confirmed wash opportunity. A walking trip asks different things of shoes than a meeting schedule. These guides name their assumptions so you can change the plan instead of treating a sample item count as a packing rule.

A useful starting point.

  1. Confirm activities and the forecast close to departure, including conditions at different stops.
  2. Decide when clothing can realistically be cleaned and dried; pack a clean alternative if the plan fails.
  3. Check your carrier’s current bag rules directly. A clothing capsule is not a promise that a particular bag meets them.

Start with the weekend guide for a short ordinary trip, or choose the guide matching your duration and activities. Seasonal outfit examples are also useful at home when mornings, afternoons and indoor temperatures call for different layers.
